The Senior Medical Director – Psychiatrist provides medical oversight of assigned clinical studies and serves as a medical monitor. This role ensures subject safety, scientific integrity, and regulatory compliance while providing therapeutic expertise, mentoring, and strategic guidance to internal teams and clients.

Serve as primary medical contact for assigned clinical studies.
Provide medical oversight for Drug Safety and Pharmacovigilance activities.
Offer input into protocol design, amendments, and clinical development plans.
Review Informed Consent Templates, subject-facing materials, and site feasibility evaluations.
Provide medical input into data collection tools, monitoring plans, and analysis plans.
Oversee Medical Scientist staff and other Medical Directors in clinical data review.
Present trends, issues, and mitigation strategies to project teams and clients.
Provide after-hours clinical study coverage.
Deliver project-specific and therapeutic training to project teams and site staff.
Mentor staff to ensure adherence to sound treatment and research principles.
Serve as a consultant and functional lead on projects.
Maintain knowledge of FDA and global drug development regulations and ICH GCP guidelines.
Ensure compliance with enterprise and client SOPs, project plans, and policies.
Lead medical responses to RFPs, BDMs, and RFIs as required.
Represent Syneos Health at scientific and industry meetings, and may publish articles.
Supervise and manage other Medical Directors as needed.
Provide guidance for product/clinical development strategies and regulatory submissions.
Engage external experts/consultants when necessary.
Medical degree with specialty in Psychiatry.
Extensive experience in clinical development and medical oversight.
Strong knowledge of GCP, FDA, and international regulatory requirements.
Proven ability to mentor, train, and lead multidisciplinary teams.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
Comfortable providing after-hours coverage as needed.

Base salary range: $95,000 – $175,700 (varies with experience and skills)
