The Senior Medical Director – Psychiatrist provides medical oversight for assigned clinical studies, ensuring subject safety and scientific integrity. This role serves as a Medical Monitor, offering therapeutic and clinical guidance across projects, mentoring staff, and liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
This position is remote-based and may involve functional leadership on clinical studies and advisory roles on commercial or consulting projects.
Provide medical oversight of clinical studies as Medical Monitor.
Serve as primary medical contact for customers on assigned studies.
Support Drug Safety and Pharmacovigilance initiatives with medical input.
Contribute to protocol design, amendments, and clinical development plans.
Develop and deliver therapeutic and project-specific training to internal and customer teams.
Provide medical input on study start-up, feasibility, and subject identification, including review of informed consent templates and site feasibility.
Advise on data collection tools, monitoring plans, and analysis plans.
Oversee and mentor Medical Scientist staff and Medical Director colleagues, identifying trends and mitigation strategies.
Provide after-hours coverage for clinical studies as needed.
Adhere to enterprise and customer policies, SOPs, and regulatory guidelines (FDA, ICH, GCP).
Lead medical responses to RFPs, RFIs, and Bid Defense Meetings (BDMs).
Represent the company at scientific and industry meetings; contribute to publications as requested.
Assume line management responsibilities and mentor staff on therapeutic and research principles.
Licensed psychiatrist with extensive clinical experience
In-depth knowledge of FDA and worldwide drug development regulations
Strong understanding of clinical research, medical monitoring, and therapeutic principles
Demonstrated ability to mentor, train, and lead cross-functional teams
Experience providing medical oversight for clinical trials or consulting projects
Remote-based role with flexibility
