Job Responsibilities:

  • Medical and Scientific Expertise:

    • Provide expertise and oversight to support the development of high-quality promotional and medical materials as part of the Promotional Review Committee (PRC) and Medical Review Committee (MRC)

    • Review and advise on internal training materials, communications, and content for Medical Affairs

    • Ensure materials meet regulatory requirements and align with scientific accuracy

  • Knowledge Development and Application:

    • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the pathophysiology, pharmacotherapy, and clinical outcomes related to assigned Alexion products and disease states

    • Support the generation of metrics and analytics to aid in load management and resource forecasting

  • Training and Presentations:

    • Assist in the development and delivery of presentations to internal teams (e.g., training on medical information procedures, medical booth training at medical congresses)

    • Potentially create content for Medical Affairs and review fact-checking of data points in promotional and medical materials

  • Compliance and Reporting:

    • Report any product quality complaints and adverse events to Quality Assurance/Drug Safety in accordance with corporate policies

    • Support operational initiatives, including the development and maintenance of SOPs and database/system enhancements

  • Medical Communications Support:

    • Contribute to broader Medical Communications activities, including Medical Education and Scientific Communication


Required Qualifications:

  • Education:

    • Advanced scientific degree in pharmacy (PharmD), PhD, or MD

  • Experience:

    • Minimum 3 years of medical information or communications experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry

    • Proven success in negotiating and influencing stakeholders

    • Understanding of drug development and regulations (FDA, EMEA)

    • Strong communication skills and proficiency in literature searching

    • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite

  • Skills:

    • Attention to detail, self-motivation, and results-oriented mindset

    • Excellent organizational, time management, and prioritization skills


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience:

    • Prior experience in medical review as part of an MLR team

    • Familiarity with promotional/medical review systems (e.g., Veeva PromoMats)

    • Experience creating medical affairs content and working on product launches

    • Experience in therapeutic areas like immunology, nephrology, hematology, oncology, or enzyme-replacement therapies

  • Other:

    • Completion of a post-PharmD Fellowship in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry


Compensation and Benefits:

  • Salary:

    • Base salary range: $113,821.60 to $170,732.40, depending on experience and location

    • Short-term incentive bonus opportunity and participation in equity-based long-term incentive program
