Job Description:
ProPharma is seeking a Multilingual Medical Information Specialist (MMIS) based in Brazil to support our Medical Information Contact Center. The MMIS will respond to unsolicited medical inquiries, ensure accurate documentation of adverse events, and translate medical documents between English and Brazilian Portuguese. This role supports ProPharma's pharmaceutical clients in compliance with regulatory standards, client procedures, and internal SOPs.


Key Responsibilities:

Medical Information Service Delivery:

  • Respond to inquiries from healthcare professionals and consumers via phone, email, web, and other channels.

  • Provide accurate, approved information—both labeled and off-label—based on scientific literature and company guidelines.

  • Translate documents between English and Brazilian Portuguese (verbal and written).

  • Document and report adverse events, pregnancy reports, and product complaints per SOPs and regulatory guidance.

  • Create custom responses based on approved sources when necessary.

  • Ensure timely logging of all handled inquiries in the system.

Quality Assurance:

  • Perform quality checks on recorded adverse events, product complaints, and medical responses.

  • Review and validate translations according to SOPs.

General Duties:

  • Participate in after-hours coverage on a rotational basis as needed.

  • Follow company-specific privacy and health policies.

  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Manager.


Qualifications:

  • Degree in Life Sciences, Nursing, or Pharmacy (RN/BS/BA/MS).

  • Native-level fluency in Brazilian Portuguese.

  • Proficiency in English (spoken and written).

  • Strong medical translation and communication skills.

  • Experience or working knowledge in:

    • Medical terminology and pharmacology

    • Regulatory and industry standards

    • Professional and empathetic customer service

    • Inquiry handling systems and document management platforms

  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of handling multiple tasks under deadlines.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and adaptable to various systems.


Salary Estimate:
Estimated range: $28,000 – $40,000 USD per year (based on full-time remote roles for medical information specialists in Brazil)
