Job Summary

Amgen is seeking a Senior Manager – Scientific Communications to lead the strategic planning and execution of global scientific and medical content. Based in Hyderabad, this on-site leadership role involves managing scientific communication initiatives for key therapeutic areas including Oncology, Inflammation, General Medicine, Rare Disease, and Obesity. The role offers an opportunity to collaborate with global stakeholders and drive innovation across publication and content development workflows in a regulated biopharma environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver innovative, audience-specific scientific content globally (DSEs, digital content, FAQs, MSL material)

  • Manage publication deliverables: manuscripts, abstracts, posters, and presentations

  • Address medical information requests and support payer content creation

  • Collaborate with global ops teams to optimize systems and KPIs for medical content

  • Align and execute scientific communication strategies with changes in disease and treatment landscapes

  • Ensure compliance with SOPs and regulatory guidelines

  • Lead and develop a high-performing team

  • Oversee resource allocation, training, and performance management

  • Cultivate strong cross-functional collaborations with stakeholders


Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Doctorate with 2+ years in Medical Affairs, Scientific Communications, or related areas
    (or 6 years with Master’s, 8 years with Bachelor’s)

  • 2+ years of people management or team leadership experience

  • Background in clinical research, patient care, or clinical development

  • Knowledge of GPP, ICMJE guidelines, and pharmaceutical regulations

  • Strategic planning and matrix team management experience

  • Strong scientific literature analysis and medical content communication skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and content management tools


Preferred Skills

  • PharmD, PhD, MD, or DO with 4+ years in clinical or scientific roles

  • Experience using AI tools and digital platforms in medical communications

  • Familiarity with global publication planning and omnichannel strategies

  • Ability to thrive in global, virtual team environments

  • Excellent written and verbal communication
