Role Summary:
Biocon Limited is seeking a seasoned professional to join its Generic Formulations Commercial team as a Senior Manager – Portfolio Management. The role involves leading product selection and evaluation, developing business cases, and prioritizing pipeline assets for global regulated markets across both formulations and APIs.
Key Responsibilities:
Identify and select new product opportunities within formulations and APIs.
Lead cross-functional evaluations encompassing patent reviews, regulatory viability, technical feasibility, and market potential.
Build comprehensive business cases in collaboration with IP, regulatory, technical, and commercial teams.
Assess market dynamics including competitive landscape, unmet needs, and external risks impacting valuation.
Utilize financial tools to evaluate opportunities—NPVs, IRRs, sales forecasts, and revenue estimates.
Deliver portfolio prioritization presentations and strategic recommendations to senior and executive leadership.
Continuously update product pipelines, decision logs, and analytical reports.
Support periodic pipeline re-alignment in response to market shifts or internal resource optimization.
Conduct in-depth analysis on therapeutic areas, market trends, innovation gaps, and commercial challenges.
Basic Qualifications & Experience:
Education: M.Pharm + MBA (Mandatory)
Experience: 6 to 10 years in portfolio management across formulations and APIs
Prior experience in R&D or IP Management is desirable but not compulsory
Strong analytical acumen with proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, charts, NPV/IRR modeling, revenue projections)
Deep understanding of the global pharmaceutical ecosystem, including commercial, regulatory, and patent domains
Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally and deliver strategic portfolio insights
