Senior Functional Programmer – Clinical Data (Bangalore)

Job Summary:
Novo Nordisk is hiring a Senior Functional Programmer in Bangalore to support Risk-Based Quality Monitoring (RBQM) across global clinical trial portfolios. This is an opportunity to work with large clinical datasets and advanced BI tools like SAS, SQL, Python, and Power BI in one of the world’s most respected pharmaceutical companies. The role requires 4–6 years of experience in pharma, bioinformatics, or clinical systems and is ideal for professionals with strong technical and analytical expertise in clinical development.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop standard and custom clinical trial monitoring reports using SAS, SQL, Python, and BI tools (Qlik Sense, Power BI, JMP Clinical, CluePoint, etc.)

  • Conduct peer reviews and maintain documentation for accuracy and compliance

  • Host trial monitoring meetings and gather/report requirements from stakeholders

  • Provide training and mentorship to new team members and assist in onboarding

  • Contribute to process improvements and resource planning


Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Life Sciences, IT, Computer Science, or related field

  • 4–6 years of experience in pharma or life sciences; at least 4 years in clinical data management or bioinformatics

  • Strong command of programming tools: SAS, SQL, PL/SQL, Python, Power BI, VBScript

  • Familiarity with GxP guidelines, ICH, and system validation practices

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

  • Knowledge of RBQM, clinical trial data review, and reporting systems

  • Bonus: experience with NLP, R-Shiny, or JSL
