Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
The Senior Director, Health Policy, will contribute to the growth of Cencora’s Reimbursement Policy Analytics offering by delivering and supporting data-driven, policy-oriented solutions to clients. This role combines thought leadership, business development, and strategic project oversight to enhance patient access across the life sciences sector.


Responsibilities:

  • Provide subject matter expertise in life sciences healthcare policy, including Medicare/Medicaid regulations, the Inflation Reduction Act, federal scoring models, and alternative payment models.

  • Serve as the internal and external thought leader and business development (BD) expert for health policy solutions.

  • Leverage healthcare data sources (Medicare claims, Part D data, MEPS, MCBS, commercial data).

  • Engage with patient advocacy and industry organizations.

  • Develop tailored, data-driven analysis frameworks addressing client questions.

  • Interpret, summarize, and translate complex results into actionable strategic insights.

  • Communicate findings through impactful narratives relevant to product launch and policymaker influence.


Management Responsibilities:

  • Lead by setting expectations, coaching, and monitoring performance (no direct reports initially).

  • Innovate service offerings and drive business expansion.

  • Author proposals and allocate resources to meet project objectives.

  • Pursue and manage new revenue opportunities.

  • Ensure quality, accuracy, and risk mitigation across deliverables.

Education:

  • Graduate degree in Public Policy, Healthcare Policy, Law, or related field required.

  • Master’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.


Work Experience:

  • Minimum 12+ years of experience in healthcare policy and reimbursement.

  • Strong background in healthcare consulting, pharmaceuticals, biotech, or medical devices.

  • Demonstrated success in reimbursement strategy and business development.


Skills and Knowledge:

  • Robust DC and Pharma industry connections.

  • Deep expertise in Medicare payment policies, coding, coverage, and reimbursement.

  • Proficient in analyzing Medicare/commercial data (claims, chargemaster, formulary, etc.).

  • Experience in drug distribution, specialty pharmacy, and patient support services.

  • Ability to translate complex policy data to varied audiences.

  • Strong command of Microsoft Excel and SAS.

  • Excellent writing, presentation, and verbal communication skills.

  • Strategic, results-oriented, and collaborative mindset.

  • Capable of managing multiple projects and priorities.

  • Travel required: 15%–30% (primarily to Washington, DC).

Salary Range:
$152,500 – $235,180 (national average; regional variances may apply)
