Senior Clinical Programmer – Novartis (Hyderabad, India)
Job Summary:
Novartis is hiring a Senior Clinical Programmer to support clinical data review and reporting across the drug development lifecycle. This full-time role is based in Hyderabad, India, and requires expertise in clinical programming tools including SQL, SAS, R, and Python. You'll be involved in designing specifications, producing actionable reports, managing data quality, and ensuring alignment with global data standards. Key Responsibilities:
Produce and track data reports supporting clinical trial monitoring
Deliver user-friendly reports and actionable insights on clinical datasets
Author or co-author user requirements, specs, and test scripts
Perform or support programming using SQL, PL/SQL, SAS, Python, R, VB Script, C#
Collaborate with clinical trial teams (CTTs) and stakeholders to understand and deliver on data needs
Support planning, execution, and close-out of clinical programs/trials
Provide quantitative and analytical support for decision-making
Ensure documentation, training, and data standards compliance
Participate in or lead special projects and process improvements across clinical and non-clinical functions
Required Skills & Qualifications:
5+ years of clinical programming or data reporting experience in the pharmaceutical or clinical research industry
Strong knowledge of SQL, PL/SQL, SAS, Python, R, VB Script, C#
Experience in writing technical documentation (user requirements, specs, etc.)
Understanding of global clinical data standards and Good Clinical Practice (GCP)
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver in cross-functional team settings
Familiarity with Novartis clinical data systems and standards is a plus
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Educational background in life sciences, computer science, or related field preferred
