Role Description
The SDS Author is responsible for ensuring that the Safety Data Sheets (SDS) comply with all relevant laws and regulations, maintaining accuracy and up-to-date information globally.
Interpret and convey the information contained in SDS and ensure that all relevant data is included.
Communicate effectively with suppliers, customers, and other external stakeholders.
Understand the company's product line and the hazards associated with each product.
Work independently while collaborating with team members.
Proactively make decisions and contribute to strategic moves.
Job Requirements
Postgraduate degree in Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, or Biotechnology.
2 to 4 years of experience in the relevant life science field.
Preferably experience with GHS, CLP knowledge.
Technical Skills / Competencies
Chemistry Knowledge: Basic proficiency expected.
In-depth understanding of functional groups, structures, etc.
Ability to judge hazards based on structures and functional groups.
Ability to perform similarity searches and evaluate data from similar substances.
SAP User Knowledge: Limited proficiency expected.
Navigation of screens/transactions in SAP.
Ability to create specifications and search for proper data in SAP.
Global Chemical Regulatory Knowledge:
Awareness of SDS and hazards.
Knowledge of chemical regulations and classification (e.g., GHS, CLP).
Familiarity with digital tools and advanced Excel.
Process Improvement:
Key skills and abilities in process improvements and Kaizen.
Ability to lead projects and teams.
Behavioral Competencies
Proficiency in interpersonal skills, problem-solving, planning & execution, customer orientation, business acumen, and impactful communication.
Strong decision-making abilities.
