Team Overview: Antibody Team

The Antibody Team is responsible for the engineering and development of high-quality, specific antibodies. Key focus areas include:

  • Antibody design, development, purification, conjugation, and testing

  • Utilization of cutting-edge tools for immunoassay applications

  • Development of advanced reagents and generation of supporting product data


Role Summary

As Scientist III, you will lead antibody development initiatives focused on performance and specificity. The role includes people management, strategic planning, and cross-functional collaboration to drive complex R&D projects using state-of-the-art technologies. You will be part of the R&D leadership team in Bangalore.


Key Responsibilities

  • Drive antigen and antibody development in a fast-paced R&D environment

  • Lead and mentor a matrix team of scientists and provide technical direction

  • Develop and optimize protocols for antigen design and expression

  • Coach junior scientists on experimental design, data interpretation, and reporting

  • Collaborate with product management, operations, and business development teams to meet project goals

  • Write and maintain technical documentation and SOPs for effective knowledge transfer

  • Deliver results from early feasibility to product launch, including validation phases

  • Provide technical support to manufacturing and ensure product quality

  • Maintain compliance with data integrity and documentation standards


Required Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • PhD in a Life Sciences field (e.g., Molecular Biology, Protein Biology) with 7+ years of R&D experience
    — OR —

  • Master’s degree with 15+ years of relevant R&D experience

  • Minimum 3–4 years of industry experience

  • Prior people management or leadership experience preferred


Technical Expertise Required

  • In-depth knowledge of antibody development platforms:

    • Hybridoma

    • Single B cell

    • Recombinant antibody technologies

  • Expertise in protein/peptide design, expression, purification, and protein-protein interaction studies

  • Hands-on experience with expression systems:

    • Bacterial

    • Yeast

    • Insect

    • Mammalian

  • Knowledge of structural biology, antibody engineering, and computational modeling

  • Skilled in immunoassays and biochemical techniques:

    • ELISA, SDS-PAGE, Western blotting, IHC, IF

  • Proficient in conjugation chemistries and antibody labeling techniques

  • Experience with GLP (Good Laboratory Practices) and writing SOPs

  • Strong troubleshooting, decision-making, and conflict resolution skills

  • Proven ability to deliver commercial-ready products through feasibility, development, and validation phases

  • Strong documentation and scientific writing skills
