Role Overview

We are seeking a Lead Data Scientist to drive innovation in healthcare and health insurance analytics through AI, ML, and Generative AI technologies. This role requires deep technical expertise, domain knowledge, and leadership experience to build scalable, secure, and responsible AI solutions that generate measurable business impact.

You will lead a team of data scientists and AI engineers, design advanced AI/ML solutions, and influence organizational strategy to accelerate healthcare innovation.


Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Strategy

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of data scientists and AI engineers, fostering collaboration and innovation.

  • Define and implement the AI/ML roadmap aligned with healthcare business goals and regulatory requirements.

  • Translate complex healthcare challenges into actionable AI solutions with business stakeholders.

  • Oversee project delivery, team performance, and adoption of best practices.

Healthcare & Domain Expertise

  • Apply deep understanding of healthcare and health insurance datasets, including claims, clinical, provider, and member data.

  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, HITECH, and data governance standards.

AI/ML & Generative AI Engineering

  • Architect, implement, and optimize ML, deep learning, and generative AI models using LangChain, HuggingFace, LLMs (GPT, Gemini, LLaMA).

  • Build and maintain RAG pipelines, multi-agent workflows, and prompt-based learning systems for healthcare applications.

  • Implement Responsible AI principles: fairness, transparency, explainability, and security.

Cloud-Native AI Development & MLOps

  • Design scalable AI/ML solutions on cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) with Databricks, SageMaker, ML Studio, Vertex AI, and Bedrock.

  • Integrate models with enterprise systems via APIs and SDKs.

  • Manage CI/CD pipelines, model monitoring, drift analysis, and containerization (Docker, MLFlow).

Collaboration & Stakeholder Management

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver AI-powered insights and products.

  • Manage vendor relationships and external data partnerships.

  • Champion agile practices, code management (GitHub), and technical documentation.


Qualifications

Required:

  • 7+ years of experience in data science, AI, and MLOps, including 3+ years in healthcare or health insurance analytics.

  • Hands-on experience with GenAI frameworks (LangChain, HuggingFace, LLMs) and cloud AI services (Azure, AWS, GCP).

  • Strong Python, PySpark, SQL, and big data technology expertise (Hadoop, Spark).

  • Proven leadership experience managing AI or data science teams.

  • Solid understanding of healthcare data, regulatory compliance, and domain-specific modeling.

  • Proficiency in MLOps, CI/CD, GitHub, and agile methodologies.

Preferred:

  • Experience with advanced deep learning (CNNs, Autoencoders) and NLP models (Transformers, RNNs).

  • Familiarity with healthcare interoperability standards (HL7, FHIR).

  • Exposure to reporting tools and dashboard creation.
