BioSciences Division (BID), part of the Life Science Solutions Group
The R&D team in Bangalore focuses on recombinant antibody and immunoassay development using DNA technology.


Role Summary

The Scientist III will lead R&D projects focused on recombinant antibody development and validation. A key aspect of the role includes managing the Core Cell Culture Facility and overseeing a team of 5–7 scientists, driving both scientific and professional development goals.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design, plan, initiate, and execute experiments related to mammalian cell biology

  • Independently lead and manage a cell culture facility supporting multiple R&D programs

  • Guide, mentor, and manage a team of 5–7 researchers

  • Maintain a cell culture lab with appropriate standards and compliance

  • Develop cell-based models and perform specific differentiation protocols

  • Conduct and oversee analytical techniques including:

    • Western blotting

    • Immunofluorescence

    • Flow cytometry

    • ELISA

  • Maintain meticulous documentation in data sheets, e-notebooks, and databases

  • Ensure data integrity and scientific accuracy

  • Author technical protocols and SOPs; manage lab inventory and orders

  • Support product development during feasibility, development, and validation stages

  • Contribute to scientific writing and technical documentation as required by the project


Education & Experience Requirements

Required:

  • Ph.D. in Biotechnology, Life Sciences, or related fields
    OR

  • Master’s degree in Cell Biology, Biotechnology, Genetics, or related disciplines with 7+ years of relevant industry experience


Skills & Expertise

  • Strong hands-on experience in mammalian cell culture and maintenance

  • Deep understanding of cell biology and protein workflow experiments

  • Expertise in designing and executing experiments for antibody development

  • Proficiency in:

    • Western blotting

    • Immunofluorescence

    • ELISA

    • Flow cytometry

  • Excellent scientific writing skills and experience authoring reports or publications

  • Familiarity with SOPs, technical protocols, and experimental documentation

  • Team leadership and mentorship skills with a focus on professional development

  • Strong organizational and planning skills with high attention to detail

  • Adaptable, collaborative mindset with a willingness to learn and innovate

Preferred (Bonus):

  • Peer-reviewed publications

  • Industry experience in bioinformatics or grant writing

  • Experience managing cleanroom environments and facility compliance
