Key Responsibilities:
Cost Reduction and Process Improvement:
Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives for existing products.
Conduct root cause analysis and troubleshoot process issues for efficiency and waste reduction.
New Product Development:
Lead the development of new products from concept to commercialization.
Design and execute experiments for feasibility and scalability.
People Management, Lab Operations, and Safety:
Supervise and mentor a team of scientists and technicians.
Ensure safety regulations are met and maintain a safe work environment.
Scale-up, Commissioning, and Plant Support:
Lead scale-up activities for new products and ensure smooth transition from lab to full-scale production.
Provide technical support to manufacturing and business teams to address production challenges.
Data Entry and Documentation:
Ensure accurate and timely data entry and maintain comprehensive documentation.
Develop and implement SOPs for data management.
Qualifications:
Education: Ph.D. or master’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
Experience: Minimum of 15 years in R&D within the fine chemicals industry.
Proven experience in product development and process improvement.
Leadership and team management experience.
Knowledge of scale-up and plant commissioning is highly desirable.
Skills:
Strong project management and organizational skills.
Proficient in Design of Experiments (DOE) for process optimization.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in relevant software for data analysis and documentation.
