Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Research Scientist - Analytical Chemistry (L1) to join our team at Jubilant Ingrevia Limited, based in Bharuch, Gujarat. This position will primarily focus on providing analytical support for R&D activities, ensuring the quality of fine chemical intermediates, and contributing to plant troubleshooting and customer inquiries. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in analytical chemistry, method development, and instrumentation, with a proven track record in a similar industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sample Analysis:

    • Conduct detailed analysis of samples from R&D projects, plant troubleshooting, customer inquiries, and competitor products.
    • Analyze fine chemical intermediates and final product samples to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • R&D Support:

    • Provide analytical support to R&D activities, aiding in process optimization and the development of new products.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide insights that support business strategies.
  • Plant Troubleshooting:

    • Analyze samples to identify and resolve manufacturing process issues, ensuring smooth operations and compliance.
  • Customer and Competitor Samples:

    • Analyze customer and competitor samples to inform product development and competitive strategies.
  • Quality Assurance:

    • Ensure all analyses are conducted in line with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and regulatory guidelines.
    • Maintain accurate and detailed records of all analytical activities.
  • Analytical Methods & Instrumentation:

    • Conduct wet and instrumental analyses (e.g., GC, HPLC, Karl Fischer titrator, pH meter, etc.) to determine the composition and properties of substances.
    • Develop and validate analytical methods to ensure accuracy, precision, and reliability.
  • Equipment Handling:

    • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring proper functioning and calibration.
    • Safely handle and manage laboratory chemicals and gaseous cylinders containing nitrogen, oxygen, hydrogen, and other gases.
  • Documentation and Compliance:

    • Prepare SOPs, specifications, and Certificates of Analysis (COAs).
    • Maintain detailed laboratory records to ensure traceability and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Education: M.Sc. in Chemistry or a related field.

  • Experience:

    • 4-8 years of analytical experience, preferably in the Chemical or API industries.
    • Experience in Quality Control (QC) and Analytical Research and Development (ARD) is highly desirable.
  • Software Proficiency:

    • Familiarity with software tools such as BAAN, LN, and SAP for data management and process documentation.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Expertise in various analytical techniques, including HPLC, GC, Karl Fischer titration, and pH measurements.
  • In-depth knowledge of laboratory safety protocols and compliance standards.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
