Position Summary:

As a Research Technician (Phlebotomist) in our Early Development team, you will be trained to perform a wide range of technical and non-technical tasks that are critical to Phase I and IB clinical trials. Your primary responsibilities will include specimen collection (especially phlebotomy), vital sign monitoring, and interacting with study subjects in a clinical setting.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform technical procedures such as:

    • Phlebotomy (blood draws)

    • Vital signs

    • ECGs

    • Urine collections

  • Support non-technical clinical tasks including:

    • Subject walks

    • Safety monitoring

  • Record and handle subject data in compliance with protocol standards.

  • Assist with study-related procedures during in-house and outpatient visits.

  • Maintain professional interaction with subjects and colleagues.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications:

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) certification is required.

Experience:

  • 0–1 years of relevant clinical or technical experience, or equivalent combination of training and education.

  • Prior experience in Phase I technical procedures is a plus, but not required (training provided).


Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Proficient in or able to learn phlebotomy and clinical trial protocols.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Detail-oriented with the ability to work effectively in a team.

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a high-pressure environment.


Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

  • Requires use of PPE (e.g., gloves, lab coat, safety glasses).

  • Ability to work standing/upright for extended periods.

  • Able to lift/move objects up to 25 pounds.

  • Exposure to clinical/laboratory environments including biological specimens.

  • Requires ability to use office and clinical equipment and software with proficiency.

  • Must perform effectively under pressure while managing competing priorities.
