Job Overview

As a Client Partner – Medical Coding, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality inpatient coding services while working directly on client-driven KPIs, productivity standards, and compliance goals. This role offers structured career progression, certification support, and exposure to enterprise-level hospital coding operations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Review inpatient and observation medical records and assign accurate diagnosis and procedure codes using ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, and CPT

  • Apply UHDDS guidelines, AHA Coding Clinic updates, and payer-specific coding and documentation standards

  • Ensure accurate assignment of MS-DRGs, including MDCs, CCs, and MCCs, in alignment with clinical documentation

  • Participate in and support Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) initiatives to optimize DRG assignment

  • Draft and manage physician queries in compliance with OIG and UHDDS regulations

  • Maintain internal quality benchmarks, including minimum 95% coding accuracy, productivity, and turnaround time standards

  • Utilize hospital coding encoder tools such as 3M, TruCode, or equivalent systems

  • Collaborate with team members to achieve operational targets and continuous improvement goals

  • Participate in refresher training programs, coding meetings, and educational initiatives

  • Identify opportunities to reduce revenue leakage while maintaining full regulatory compliance


Required Skills & Competencies

  • Strong working knowledge of IP/DRG hospital coding principles

  • Hands-on experience with MS-DRG assignment and inpatient hospital workflows

  • Excellent analytical, comprehension, and documentation review skills

  • Ability to maintain high productivity and accuracy in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong ethical standards and commitment to coding compliance


Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: Graduate in Life Sciences or related discipline

  • Experience: 1–4 years of hands-on experience in Inpatient Medical Coding

  • Certifications:

    • CCS or CIC certification with hospital coding experience preferred

    • Willingness to pursue additional certifications (AAPC/AHIMA)
