Role Summary

Fortrea, one of the world’s largest Clinical Research Organizations, is seeking a Research Technician to support the Clinical Pharmacology Start-Up team in rapidly initiating Early Phase (Phase 1) clinical trials.
This is a full-time, office-based role with rotating shifts in Dallas, TX.

You will work directly with participants and contribute to establishing the safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetics of investigational drugs, collaborating with leading pharma, biotech, and medical device companies.


What You Will Do

You will apply your clinical skills and judgment to ensure high-quality care for clinical trial participants while responding to emergency situations according to research standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform vital sign measurements: blood pressure, pulse, respiratory rate, temperature, weights.

  • Conduct venipuncture accurately.

  • Prepare and record ECGs/Holters.

  • Collect and process biological samples per protocol and ensure proper distribution.

  • Monitor meals to ensure participant dietary compliance.

  • Prepare rooms and medical equipment before procedures.

  • Assist with participant screening as required.

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant clinical environment.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Minimum Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Equivalent relevant experience may be considered.

Preferred Certifications

  • EMT, Phlebotomy, CMA, or CNA certification.

Experience

  • 0–1 year of clinical research experience.

  • Previous clinical experience preferred but not required—open to recent graduates or individuals with recent clinical exposure.


Work Environment

  • Laboratory and/or clinical setting with exposure to electrical equipment.

  • Possible exposure to biological fluids.

  • PPE required (gloves, eyewear, protective garments).

  • Occasional travel to site locations (domestic).


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand or remain stationary for 6–8 hours.

  • Frequent repetitive hand and wrist movements for lab equipment operation.

  • Occasional crouching or stooping; frequent bending and twisting.

  • Ability to use various in-house and standard computer software.

  • Light to moderate lifting (15–20 lbs).

  • Regular and consistent attendance; varied hours possible.
