🧠 About the Role

Fortrea, one of the largest Clinical Research Organizations (CROs) globally, operates four Early Phase Clinical Research Units in the UK and US.

We are currently seeking Research Nurses (RNs/LPNs) and Paramedics to join our Early Phase Clinical Pharmacology Team. You’ll directly interact with healthy volunteer participants, learn to read clinical research protocols, and work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Every day brings new learning opportunities — exposure to diverse therapeutic indications and study types such as:

  • Ascending Dose Studies

  • First-in-Human Trials

  • Food Effect Studies

  • Drug-to-Drug Interaction (DDI) Studies

🎯 Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality participant care, applying clinical judgment and adhering to study protocols.

  • Accurately perform and record:

    • Blood Pressure, Pulse, Weight, Respiratory Rate, Temperature

    • Venipuncture

    • ECGs / Holter Monitoring

  • Collect and process biological samples as per protocol, ensuring proper labeling and distribution.

  • Monitor meals to maintain participant dietary compliance.

  • Prepare rooms and medical equipment for clinical activities.

  • Assist with screening procedures when required.

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient clinical environment.

  • Perform other duties as assigned to support clinical operations.

No two days are the same. You’ll gain hands-on experience across a variety of therapeutic areas, building deep knowledge in clinical pharmacology, GCP compliance, and Phase 1 study operations.


πŸ“‹ Qualifications

Required

  • Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing

  • Active RN/LPN License in applicable state

  • Certified Paramedics (must hold valid state certification)

Preferred

  • EMT, Phlebotomy, CMA, or CNA certification

  • 0–1 year of relevant experience

  • Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of formal education
