Position Summary
Fortrea is seeking a highly motivated Research Nurse (RN or LPN) to engage directly with healthy volunteer participants in a fast-paced, team-oriented clinical research environment. This role offers exposure to a broad range of therapeutic areas and study types, including ascending dose studies, first-in-human trials, food effect studies, and drug-drug interaction studies.

This is a full-time, office/clinic-based position in Dallas, TX, with day or mid-shift schedules and rotating weekends.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct vital sign assessments, including blood pressure, pulse, respiratory rate, temperature, and weight measurements.

  • Prepare and accurately record ECGs and Holter monitoring data.

  • Collect, process, and manage biological samples according to study protocols.

  • Monitor participant adherence to dietary and study requirements.

  • Assist with preparation of clinical rooms and medical equipment.

  • Support participant screening and enrollment procedures.

  • Maintain a safe, clean, and efficient clinical environment.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support research operations.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing with active licensure in Texas.

  • 0–1 year of related clinical or research experience.

  • Relevant certifications such as EMT, Phlebotomy, CMA, or CNA preferred.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, protocol-driven environment and adapt to changing priorities.

  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.

Work Environment

  • Laboratory and clinical settings with exposure to electrical equipment and biological fluids.

  • Occasional travel to study sites within the US.

  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including gloves, gowns, and protective eyewear.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to remain upright or stationary for 6–8 hours per day.

  • Repetitive hand movements to operate laboratory equipment.

  • Occasional bending, crouching, and twisting.

  • Ability to lift or carry objects up to 15–20 lbs.

  • Proficiency in using computer software and electronic data collection systems.
