Role Overview

The Research Investigator – Pathology / Immunohistochemistry (IHC) will support clinical biomarker research programs through the development, validation, and analysis of pathology-based assays. The role involves working within advanced pathology platforms including histopathology, digital pathology, and immunohistochemistry to support translational research initiatives.

The position requires close collaboration with pathologists, scientists, and cross-functional research teams to deliver high-quality pathology data for preclinical and clinical research programs.

Key Responsibilities

Pathology and Biomarker Research

  • Provide clinical pathology support for ongoing research programs in collaboration with internal pathology teams and external scientific partners.

  • Contribute to the development, qualification, and validation of immunohistochemistry (IHC) and in-situ hybridization (ISH) assays.

  • Perform sample analysis and biomarker assessment to support translational research studies.

  • Generate accurate, reproducible experimental data aligned with project requirements.

Translational Research Support

  • Work closely with scientists and pathologists to support translational pathology and biomarker discovery workflows.

  • Assist in pathology analysis for clinical and preclinical samples within translational research programs.

  • Support collaborative research initiatives involving hospital networks and clinical research partners.

Digital Pathology and Data Analysis

  • Participate in digital pathology workflows and image-based analysis under the supervision of senior pathologists.

  • Contribute to the integration of digital pathology tools for enhanced biomarker analysis and data interpretation.

Laboratory Operations and Documentation

  • Assist in the preparation, review, and maintenance of standard operating procedures (SOPs).

  • Support laboratory documentation, inventory management, and quality control processes.

  • Ensure laboratory operations align with regulatory and quality standards.

Quality and Compliance

  • Ensure all experiments are conducted according to established protocols and regulatory requirements.

  • Maintain accurate documentation of experimental procedures and results.

  • Support laboratory compliance within regulated environments such as CAP, NABL, or other GxP frameworks when applicable.

Educational Qualifications

  • MBBS with MD or DNB in Pathology from a recognized institution.

Technical Skills and Expertise

  • Hands-on experience in histopathology and immunohistochemistry within hospital, academic, or pharmaceutical research environments.

  • Working knowledge of IHC assay development and biomarker analysis.

  • Familiarity with digital pathology platforms and image analysis tools is desirable.

  • Experience handling clinical samples and supporting clinical or translational research programs.

  • Exposure to oncology or other therapeutic research areas is preferred.

  • Experience working in regulated laboratory environments such as CAP, NABL, or other GxP-compliant settings is an advantage.

  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to generate reliable and reproducible experimental results.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including pathologists, scientists, and clinical researchers.
