Research Associate – HEOR (Remote, India) | Norstella

Job Summary:

Norstella is hiring a Remote Research Associate to join its HEOR (Health Economics and Outcomes Research) Real-World Data (RWD) team. This full-time role offers a fantastic opportunity for professionals with 2 to 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical, biotech, or healthcare consulting/research sectors. The ideal candidate will support US-based HEOR leaders on global observational research studies and help deliver critical insights into the drug development lifecycle.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct targeted literature reviews using PubMed and other public data sources.

  • Summarize disease prevalence/incidence and treatment landscapes from published literature.

  • Identify diagnosis (ICD-10), procedure (CPT/HCPCS), and drug (NDC) codes as required.

  • Prepare structured tables and figures in MS Excel as per study protocols (no programming needed).

  • Assist in defining study cohorts, outcomes, and patient populations for HEOR/RWE studies.

  • Attend daily web-based teleconferences with US and India teams.

  • Ensure high-quality, accurate execution of research tasks with minimal oversight.

  • Potential for increased responsibilities based on performance and experience.


Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, pharmacy, or science-related field (preferred: Graduate degree in Epidemiology, Biostatistics, or Pharmacy).

  • Experience: 2–5 years in pharma, biotech, or healthcare consulting/research firms.

  • Prior experience with US-based or global HEOR teams desirable.

  • Familiarity with real-world data (RWD), such as US healthcare claims or EMR data, is a plus.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

  • Ability to work independently with excellent attention to detail and data accuracy.

  • Proficient in MS Excel; data handling experience beneficial.

  • Flexibility to collaborate across global time zones (Eastern US and IST).
