Role Overview

The Regional Medical Advisor (RMA) serves as the primary scientific interface between the organization and Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), physicians, and healthcare stakeholders within the assigned geography and therapy area.

This role is responsible for executing the regional medical affairs strategy, engaging thought leaders, supporting evidence generation, and translating clinical insights into actionable medical and business strategies to improve patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Scientific Engagement & KOL Management

  • Identify, map, and profile key thought leaders across assigned therapeutic areas and geography.

  • Establish peer-to-peer scientific relationships with leading specialists, pharmacists, hospital administrators, and scientific society members.

  • Engage KOLs through medical education initiatives, advisory boards, scientific meetings, and pre-license activities.

Medical Strategy & Evidence Generation

  • Execute regional medical affairs plans aligned with overall strategic objectives.

  • Support therapy area leads in developing and implementing annual Medical Affairs Strategy Plans.

  • Collaborate with KOLs on therapy-specific reviews, meta-analyses, case studies, case series, and patient-reported outcomes for publication in peer-reviewed journals.

  • Identify knowledge gaps, practice gaps, and data gaps to design targeted medical action plans.

  • Act as a pipeline champion by identifying unmet clinical needs and contributing to differentiated product development strategies.

Scientific Communication & Insights

  • Provide proactive and reactive scientific discussions on clinical data, treatment trends, and disease management.

  • Respond to complex medical information requests from healthcare professionals.

  • Gather and analyze insights on disease trends and treatment patterns to inform therapy leads and commercial teams.

  • Conduct disease trend analysis and contribute to strategic planning initiatives.

Training & Compliance

  • Develop and implement medical training plans for sales and marketing teams to ensure accurate scientific communication.

  • Ensure promotional and educational materials comply with internal approval processes and regulatory guidelines.

  • Conduct all activities in strict adherence to organizational Code of Business Ethics (COBE) and compliance policies.

Educational Qualification

  • MBBS with full-time postgraduate qualification (minimum 2 years) in any medical discipline
    OR

  • MBBS with MBA from a reputed institute

Experience Required

  • Fresh postgraduate or up to 2 years of experience in field-based Medical Affairs.

  • Strong academic background with demonstrated research exposure preferred.

Technical Competencies

  • In-depth knowledge of assigned therapeutic area(s).

  • Strong understanding of clinical research methodologies and medical data interpretation.

  • Ability to engage in high-level scientific discussions with specialists.

  • Experience operating in complex, matrix-driven pharmaceutical environments preferred.
