Role Overview

The R&D Transversal Capabilities Group Lead is a strategic leadership role responsible for driving operational excellence across multiple cross-functional capabilities within the R&D ecosystem. Based at the Sanofi Global Hub in Hyderabad, this role focuses on managing large teams, optimizing processes, and enabling seamless collaboration across global R&D operations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage transversal capabilities including dashboarding, reporting, change management, workforce engagement, and system access governance

  • Oversee non-asset project management and end-to-end service provider coordination

  • Act as the primary point of contact for transversal capabilities across global and hub stakeholders

  • Collaborate with Global R&D Operations and internal departments to identify operational needs and deliver scalable solutions

  • Drive resource planning, budget allocation, and workforce optimization for large teams (50+ members)

  • Ensure timely delivery of projects with high standards of quality, efficiency, and compliance

  • Implement change management strategies aligned with organizational frameworks

  • Foster innovation by identifying process improvement opportunities and deploying new tools and methodologies

  • Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships across global and regional teams

  • Mentor team members, encourage high performance, and support professional development

  • Develop risk mitigation strategies and ensure business continuity planning


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree (BSc, MBA, PhD) in Life Sciences, Business, or related fields

  • 10–15 years of experience in pharmaceutical R&D operations, project management, or cross-functional leadership roles

  • Proven experience managing large, multi-layered teams in a global environment

  • Strong expertise in stakeholder management, change management, and strategic planning

  • Proficiency in MS Office tools, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, and project management platforms

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and decision-making skills

  • Fluency in English (written and spoken)
