Job Overview
The Research Scientist – Medicinal Chemistry role focuses on drug discovery and research activities involving compound design, synthesis, and chemical development. The position supports research and development initiatives through scientific investigation, literature analysis, and laboratory experimentation to advance pharmaceutical innovation.
This role offers an opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research programs and work within a collaborative scientific environment dedicated to developing novel therapeutic solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct medicinal chemistry research and development activities.
Perform literature searches using scientific databases such as SciFinder and Reaxys.
Design and synthesize chemical compounds to support drug discovery programs.
Execute chemical reactions including carbon–carbon (C–C) coupling and related synthesis techniques.
Operate laboratory equipment such as Combiflash and Biotage systems.
Maintain accurate documentation of experimental procedures and results.
Collaborate with cross-functional research teams to support project objectives.
Ensure compliance with laboratory safety standards and research protocols.
Education and Experience Requirements
Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Organic Chemistry.
1–3 years of experience in medicinal chemistry, chemical synthesis, or pharmaceutical research and development.
Strong knowledge of organic synthesis techniques and drug discovery principles.
Required Skills and Competencies
Expertise in medicinal chemistry and chemical synthesis methodologies.
Experience with scientific literature review and research analysis tools.
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Laboratory instrumentation handling experience.
Attention to detail and strong documentation skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within research teams.
