Role Overview

The Quality Manager – Anatomic Pathology will lead and coordinate quality assurance efforts across LabCorp’s Anatomic Pathology laboratories in the Northwestern region. This role ensures compliance with regulatory standards (CLIA, CAP, etc.), supports operational excellence, and fosters a culture of quality.


Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and maintain LabCorp’s quality assurance program in assigned labs

  • Collaborate with laboratory teams, medical directors, and senior leadership

  • Communicate shared vision and goals for quality initiatives

  • Promote a culture of quality and continuous learning

  • Provide training on LabCorp quality policies and procedures

  • Serve as a liaison with external regulatory agencies

  • Facilitate process improvement activities

  • Monitor and interpret outcomes from root cause analysis, CAPAs, and effectiveness checks

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, standards, and methodologies

  • Formulate responses to accreditation and regulatory citations, nonconforming events, and complaints

  • Provide guidance for policy implementation in compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements

  • Collect and present summary data for management reports, including quality indicators, audit outcomes, and complaints

  • Conduct laboratory audits to identify quality issues, nonconformities, and improvement opportunities


Qualifications & Experience

  • Education:

    • BA/BS in Biology, Chemistry, Medical Technology, or related science preferred

    • Associate degree with relevant quality experience may be considered

  • Experience:

    • 5+ years in Quality Assurance and/or Quality Management

    • 2+ years of people leadership/operations experience preferred

    • Anatomic Pathology and diagnostic laboratory experience strongly preferred

    • Background as a Cytotechnologist or Histotechnologist is highly desirable

  • Skills:

    • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements (CLIA, CAPA, Proficiency Testing)

    • Knowledge of quality systems, regulatory compliance, and laboratory operations

    • Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills


Salary & Benefits

  • Salary Range: $90,000 – $110,000 annually (based on experience, skills, and internal equity)
