Role Overview

The Quality Control Technician II is responsible for performing microbiological and analytical testing in compliance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and regulatory requirements. This role involves sample handling, testing, documentation, and trend analysis to ensure the quality and safety of raw materials, products, and environmental monitoring systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receipt, registration, and proper documentation of all laboratory samples.

  • Conduct microbiological and analytical testing, including water, compressed air, environmental monitoring, media preparation, and growth promotion tests.

  • Perform microbial suitability testing for new materials and products.

  • Maintain accurate, timely, and error-free documentation in compliance with GLP standards.

  • Calibrate laboratory instruments and equipment, ensuring proper functionality.

  • Decontaminate used media and maintain laboratory supplies such as media, biological indicators, and Gastec tubes.

  • Revise and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), test methods, and specifications.

  • Ensure compliance with Data Integrity policies and promptly report deviations, Out-of-Trend (OOT) results, and alert limits.

  • Maintain assigned laboratory workspace, instruments, and equipment.

  • Ensure timely disposition and accurate analysis of assigned samples.

  • Prepare trends and summaries for water testing, environmental monitoring, and compressed air analysis.

  • Complete assigned trainings on time and actively participate in regulatory audits.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • BSc or MSc in Microbiology, Biotechnology, or related scientific discipline.

  • 1–3 years of experience in Quality Control or laboratory testing in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry.

  • Knowledge of microbiological and analytical testing methods and laboratory instruments.

  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

Reporting

  • Reports to Quality Control Supervisor or designated manager.
