Job Overview

Parexel is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Assurance Specialist – Medical Communications to support global medical communications programs. This remote-based role in India is ideal for professionals with a strong scientific background and hands-on experience in medical writing or medical content quality review.

The Quality Assurance Specialist will play a critical role in ensuring the medical accuracy, scientific integrity, regulatory alignment, and editorial consistency of medical communication deliverables across multiple therapeutic areas.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive medical and scientific fact-checking, ensuring accuracy against cited references and alignment with approved product labels where applicable

  • Verify correct interpretation and presentation of scientific data from primary literature and source materials

  • Ensure consistency of scientific content across text, figures, tables, and graphs, in line with branding, journal, and congress guidelines

  • Validate accurate bibliography management, in-text citations, and source annotations, ensuring one-to-one alignment between citations and references

  • Ensure content neutrality, avoiding interpretation, bias, or author conclusions in scientific materials

  • Review formatting and structural compliance with internal style guides and external publication standards

  • Track assignments, timelines, and priorities, and communicate effectively with client and internal stakeholders via email and virtual meetings

  • Participate in review discussions with medical affairs, regulatory, and client teams to resolve comments and queries

  • Maintain strict adherence to quality standards, timelines, confidentiality, and data security requirements

  • Participate in assigned training programs and continuous quality improvement initiatives


Qualifications & Experience

Educational Background

  • Advanced degree in life sciences or healthcare, such as PharmD, MD, PhD, or Master’s degree in a scientific discipline

Experience Required

  • 1–2 years of experience as a Medical Writer, Medical Editor, or Quality Reviewer within medical communications, medical affairs, or pharmaceutical environments


Required Skills & Competencies

  • Strong scientific acumen with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy

  • Proven ability to manage multiple reviews and priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

  • Strong coordination, organizational, and time management capabilities

  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively across remote, cross-functional teams

  • Proficiency with digital tools, document management systems, and virtual collaboration platforms


Therapeutic Area Experience (Preferred)

  • Cardiovascular, Renal, and Metabolic (CRM)

  • Respiratory

  • Inflammation and Immunology

  • Oncology

Experience in one or more of these therapy areas is considered an advantage.
