Role Overview

As a Quality Assurance Auditor – Outpatient Surgery Coding at LexiCode, you will ensure the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of coded medical data. You will review and validate assigned medical codes against documentation, ensuring adherence to regulatory and organizational standards.

This role combines deep technical coding knowledge with analytical and quality assurance expertise to maintain the highest coding accuracy standards.


Key Responsibilities

  • Review and analyze medical records to identify appropriate diagnoses and procedures.

  • Audit and validate ICD-10-CM and PCS codes for accuracy and compliance with documentation.

  • Ensure the precision and integrity of coded data across outpatient surgery (OPS/SDS) records.

  • Stay up to date with current coding guidelines, regulations, and best practices.

  • Participate actively in audits and continuous quality improvement initiatives to enhance accuracy and efficiency.

  • Maintain high productivity and quality benchmarks set by the organization.

  • Ensure full compliance with HIPAA and uphold patient confidentiality at all times.

  • Collaborate effectively with coding teams and healthcare professionals for feedback and education.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Certifications (any one required):

    • AHIMA: CCS

    • AAPC: CPC or CIC

  • Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience in Outpatient Surgery (OPS/SDS) coding or quality assurance.

  • Technical Skills:

    • Strong proficiency in ICD-10-CM and PCS coding systems.

    • Sound understanding of coding conventions and official guidelines.

    • Experience using coding software and EHR systems.

  • Core Competencies:

    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving ability.

    • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

    • Ability to multi-task and maintain focus in a fast-paced environment.


Work Location
