Position Overview

MilliporeSigma is seeking a QC Scientist I specializing in cell culture to support Quality Control operations for raw materials, serum products, and finished goods. This role is essential for ensuring product quality, compliance, and timely release while maintaining the highest scientific and operational standards.

This position does not offer sponsorship. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform QC testing on raw materials, serum, and finished products following established procedures, site quality guidelines, and safety standards.

  • Execute aseptic cell culture activities, including maintenance and routine passage of both suspension and adherent cell lines.

  • Conduct assays related to cell viability, cytotoxicity, population doubling time, and growth promotion.

  • Evaluate analytical results against approved specifications and perform peer review of QC data.

  • Release analytical data in accordance with scheduled timelines and Good Documentation Practices (GDP).

  • Independently perform routine testing based on approved test methods with minimal supervision.

  • Maintain accurate, complete laboratory records in compliance with quality requirements.

  • Communicate operational status, deviations, or issues to supervisors promptly.

  • Support laboratory operations including equipment maintenance, reagent preparation, inventory management, and waste disposal.

  • Maintain clean, safe, and compliant work areas and proactively address unsafe conditions.

  • Availability to work some weekends or holidays as required by business or testing needs.


Experience Required (Minimum Qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, or related Life Science field.

  • 1+ year of experience using aseptic techniques in a laboratory environment.


Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ year of experience in a Quality Control laboratory environment.

  • Hands-on experience with cell culture processes and related analytical techniques.

  • Strong attention to detail and understanding of quality standards.

  • Familiarity with QC laboratory instruments and equipment.

  • Ability to follow established procedures with accuracy and consistency.


Compensation

Hourly Pay Range: $24.00 – $44.00
Actual compensation is based on experience, education, skill level, and geographic factors.
