About the Company:

Jubilant HollisterStier SENC is an international pharmaceutical manufacturing company committed to enhancing its production capacity for liquid and lyophilized injectable products. As part of a strategic project approved by both the federal government (SIF - Strategic Innovation Funds) and the provincial government (IQ - Investissement Québec), the company is expanding its manufacturing facilities in Kirkland, Quebec. This expansion includes a two-story extension of approximately 2,100 m², dedicated to clean rooms and mechanical spaces necessary for new state-of-the-art pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment.

The goal of this project, valued at $100 million CAD, is to strengthen Canada's life sciences ecosystem to ensure rapid, safe, and self-sufficient responses to future health crises like the COVID-19 pandemic.

Job Purpose:

The Project Cost Controller will manage and oversee the financial aspects of the project to ensure that it stays within the approved budget and timeline. The individual will play a key role in monitoring project costs, providing regular updates, and ensuring financial accuracy throughout the duration of the project.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cost Management: Oversee and manage project costs, ensuring that expenditures remain within budget and that the project meets deadlines.
  • Vendor and Supplier Coordination: Verify costs with vendors and suppliers, estimate project expenditures, and recommend cost-saving measures to management.
  • Cost Analysis and Reporting: Provide in-depth analysis of total project costs (cost to completion) and maintain updated historical tracking of project finances.
  • Month-End Process Support: Support month-end activities, liaise with the accounting team, and generate regular financial reports.
  • Progress Updates: Regularly report on project expenditure progress and provide updates to the Project Director.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with all stakeholders involved in the project.
  • Expertise: Ensure high-level expertise in financial management within the project scope, offering solutions to potential financial challenges.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance or a related field.
  • Experience: 5-10 years of experience in project finance, with a strong background in financial management of large-scale projects.
  • Certifications: PMP (Project Management Professional) certification is a plus.
  • Skills:
    • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint for reporting and presentations.
    • Strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
    • Proven ability to manage multiple projects in a time-sensitive, dynamic environment.
    • Strong conflict resolution, problem-solving, and planning skills.
    • Attention to detail and accuracy in financial tracking and reporting.
  • Preferred Experience: Experience using SAP for financial tracking and reporting.
