Role Overview:
The Process Development Scientist – ADC will be responsible for executing chemical reactions and process development for Antibody Drug Conjugates (ADC) in HPAPI facilities or ADC labs. This role requires handling highly potent active pharmaceutical ingredients (HPAPIs) and cytotoxic compounds while documenting all experimental observations and outcomes meticulously. The position offers an opportunity to work in a collaborative environment, contributing to the development of novel ADC therapeutics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform chemical synthesis reactions for ADC development, including antibody–drug conjugation using potent payloads.

  • Conduct reaction work-ups, purification using column chromatography, crystallization/recrystallization, preparative TLC, and operate laboratory instruments.

  • Ensure samples are analyzed, results recorded, and updates communicated to supervisors or group leaders.

  • Maintain accurate records of experiments, resource usage, and observations in electronic or physical lab notebooks, adhering to confidentiality and data integrity standards.

  • Ensure laboratory instruments and equipment are calibrated, maintained, and properly cleaned; report any malfunctions to maintenance teams promptly.

  • Follow Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) guidelines and emergency procedures for handling HPAPIs and cytotoxic compounds.

  • Adhere to Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) protocols and internal quality standards at all times.

  • Attend mandatory training sessions and maintain updated training records.

Education & Experience Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related discipline.

  • Hands-on industry experience in process chemistry, preferably in HPAPI or cytotoxic compound handling.

  • Prior experience in ADC synthesis and chemical process development is highly desirable.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in synthetic chemistry.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

  • Proficiency in handling laboratory instruments and maintaining accurate experimental records.

  • Awareness of EHS standards, chemical safety, and regulatory compliance.

  • High degree of attention to detail, confidentiality, and data integrity.
