Role Summary

The Associate Director, Third Party Processes & Operations is responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing third-party management (TPM) processes within Development Operations. The role ensures outsourcing models and vendor management frameworks are efficient, compliant, scalable, and aligned with organizational strategy and regulatory requirements.


Key Responsibilities

1. Third-Party Process Design & Governance

  • Design, implement, and maintain TPM processes and outsourcing models

  • Ensure processes are embedded into business-as-usual operations

  • Align workflows with organizational strategy and regulatory standards

2. Compliance & Quality Oversight

  • Ensure third-party processes comply with internal standards and global regulations

  • Establish governance frameworks for monitoring compliance and operational quality

  • Ensure end-user readiness and adherence to process requirements

3. Performance Monitoring & Metrics

  • Develop oversight mechanisms including:

    • KPIs and performance metrics

    • Issue tracking and trend analysis

    • Management reporting dashboards

  • Analyze performance data and implement corrective actions and improvements

4. Process Improvement & Transformation

  • Identify and implement opportunities for process optimization and system enhancements

  • Lead initiatives to streamline third-party management operations

  • Drive innovation in outsourcing and vendor governance models

5. Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Collaborate with global process owners and cross-functional teams

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously across geographies

  • Build strong stakeholder and partner networks

6. Operational Enablement

  • Provide end-user support for TPM processes

  • Ensure effective execution of process frameworks across teams

  • Support change management and adoption of new models


Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in a scientific discipline

  • Preferred: Master’s degree (MSc or equivalent)


Experience

  • Extensive experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or related industry

  • Strong background in clinical operations and third-party/vendor management

  • Experience in process improvement and operational transformation

  • Process mapping, modeling, and redesign

  • Clinical operations understanding

  • Project management (planning, execution, monitoring)

  • KPI development and performance analytics

  • Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or Agile methodologies (preferred)
