Job Summary

Amgen is hiring a Privacy Compliance Senior Manager to support privacy initiatives across the JAPAC region from its Hyderabad office. This senior-level role involves advising on data protection strategy, driving cross-border compliance programs, managing data incidents, and collaborating with regional stakeholders in a highly regulated biopharmaceutical environment. The ideal candidate will have extensive privacy/legal experience, strong project management capabilities, and deep understanding of the global data protection landscape.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance on local privacy laws, data subject rights, and DPA interactions

  • Lead regional privacy risk assessments and audits

  • Drive remediation and self-assessment initiatives for compliance gaps

  • Support global privacy compliance programs with regional insights

  • Advise on cross-border data transfer issues and regulatory frameworks

  • Lead development of privacy notices, consent forms, and legal templates

  • Manage internal stakeholder training and privacy awareness initiatives

  • Collaborate with Legal, IT, Audit, and Compliance teams for policy enforcement

  • Support privacy incident response processes and crisis management

  • Report directly to the Chief Privacy Officer with strategic updates


Required Skills & Qualifications

  • LLB or equivalent degree with minimum 10 years of legal or privacy experience

  • Deep understanding of data protection regulations and frameworks

  • Experience in global privacy compliance, preferably in the biopharma industry

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

  • Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple high-impact projects

  • Expertise in data subject rights, audits, and regulatory filing

  • Strategic thinker with crisis handling and risk re-evaluation experience

  • Strong English writing and public speaking skills

  • Ability to work in matrixed and multicultural corporate structures

  • Preferred: CIPP certification from IAPP
