Job Summary
Amgen is hiring a Privacy Compliance Senior Manager to support privacy initiatives across the JAPAC region from its Hyderabad office. This senior-level role involves advising on data protection strategy, driving cross-border compliance programs, managing data incidents, and collaborating with regional stakeholders in a highly regulated biopharmaceutical environment. The ideal candidate will have extensive privacy/legal experience, strong project management capabilities, and deep understanding of the global data protection landscape.
Key Responsibilities
Provide guidance on local privacy laws, data subject rights, and DPA interactions
Lead regional privacy risk assessments and audits
Drive remediation and self-assessment initiatives for compliance gaps
Support global privacy compliance programs with regional insights
Advise on cross-border data transfer issues and regulatory frameworks
Lead development of privacy notices, consent forms, and legal templates
Manage internal stakeholder training and privacy awareness initiatives
Collaborate with Legal, IT, Audit, and Compliance teams for policy enforcement
Support privacy incident response processes and crisis management
Report directly to the Chief Privacy Officer with strategic updates
Required Skills & Qualifications
LLB or equivalent degree with minimum 10 years of legal or privacy experience
Deep understanding of data protection regulations and frameworks
Experience in global privacy compliance, preferably in the biopharma industry
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple high-impact projects
Expertise in data subject rights, audits, and regulatory filing
Strategic thinker with crisis handling and risk re-evaluation experience
Strong English writing and public speaking skills
Ability to work in matrixed and multicultural corporate structures
Preferred: CIPP certification from IAPP
