About the Role

Abbott is looking for a Principal Statistician to join the Clinical Statistics team, leading the statistical work for the Abbott Diabetes Care (ADC) product range. This leadership role involves collaborating with Research & Development, Engineering, Quality, and Regulatory teams to make an impact on the development of next-generation glucose monitoring technologies.


Key Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership: Provide leadership, mentorship, and development opportunities to junior statisticians, fostering collaboration and skill-sharing within the team.
  • Product Transfer: Lead the transfer of products and processes from R&D to Manufacturing, supporting product launches.
  • Data Monitoring & Improvement: Analyze manufacturing, stability, and product performance data to drive continuous improvement.
  • Statistical Analysis: Lead the development of statistical methods for trials, testing, and quality control to support business decisions.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Education: BSc (or higher) in Statistics or Mathematics.
  • Experience:
    • Experience in a regulated or manufacturing environment.
    • Proficiency in SAS/R programming.
    • Strong statistical analysis background.
  • Skills:
    • Ability to manage multiple projects and explain complex statistical concepts to non-statistical colleagues.
    • Detail-oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Excellent collaboration and team-working abilities.
