🧠 About the Role

Fortrea, one of the largest Clinical Research Organizations in the world, operates four Early Phase Clinical Research Units in the UK and US. We are seeking a Pharmacy Technician I to join our Madison, WI site.

This is a full-time, on-site position in a fast-paced, team-oriented clinical research environment. You’ll support pharmacy operations, contribute to early-phase studies (e.g., first-in-human, dose escalation, food effect, DDI studies), and witness new drugs move from development to approval.


🎯 Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain contact with supply chain organizations supporting pharmacy operations.

  • Ensure compliance with GMP, GCP, and applicable regulations.

  • Understand and follow all allocated study protocols regarding API/IMP handling.

  • Attend study meetings as needed.

  • Support Pharmacist/Study Lead in interactions with sponsors.

  • Cross-train in study operations tasks as required.

  • Assist with receipt, storage, packaging, disposition, and retention of API/IMPs.

  • Maintain accurate records of API/IMP inventory and activities.

  • Support dose preparation and dispensing processes.

  • Help generate labels and prepare manufacturing/assembly instructions.

  • Ensure adequate stock and supply of essential pharmacy materials.

  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and compliance within the pharmacy.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.


📋 Qualifications

Required

  • Active Registration: Pharmacy Technician in the State of Wisconsin

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow strict study protocols

  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills

Preferred

  • Pharmacy Technician Certification

  • 1–2 years pharmaceutical or clinical research experience

  • Hospital pharmacy experience with sterile preparation highly preferred

  • Relevant or equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of formal education
