Role Purpose

As a Principal Pharmacometrics Scientist at Novartis, you will lead the execution and delivery of pharmacometrics tasks on assigned clinical development projects. You will be responsible for the implementation of pharmacometrics methodologies that optimize research and development objectives. This role involves collaboration across various departments and offers the opportunity to contribute to the scientific content that supports clinical development planning and execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Pharmacometrics Task Leadership:

    • Lead the execution and delivery of pharmacometrics tasks on assigned projects within early and full clinical development.
  • Collaboration and Strategy Development:

    • Partner with the Novartis Institute for Biomedical Research and senior pharmacometrics associates to define objectives and deliverables for pharmacometrics.
    • Collaborate with Global Project Teams to support the quantitative evaluation of competing trial/analysis strategies, ensuring alignment with clinical development plans and target product profiles.
  • Scientific Content Contribution:

    • Contribute to the pharmacometrics scientific content for internal decision boards, regulatory submissions, and trial designs.
    • Provide responses to Health Authority questions related to trials.
  • Innovation & Collaboration:

    • Promote innovative pharmacometrics methods through scientific collaborations, publications in peer-reviewed journals, and presentations at professional meetings.

Your Experience

  • Education:

    • Ph.D. in pharmacology, biology, engineering, mathematics, statistics, or a related field with significant modeling-related content (or equivalent).
  • Experience:

    • More than 2 years of experience in pharmacometrics or modeling-related activities.
    • Expertise in analytical software such as SAS, R, MATLAB, NONMEM, or Monolix.
  • Leadership Skills:

    • Demonstrated scientific leadership in facilitating the inclusion and execution of pharmacometrics methodologies.
