Job Description:

We are seeking Pharmacists to ensure the effective use of medications through comprehensive medication order verification. Pharmacists will assess optimal drug product selection, dosage regimen design, effective administration, and monitoring services. This role requires interaction with patients, families, and healthcare providers to ensure continuity of care and achieve desired patient outcomes through safe, timely, and cost-effective drug therapy. Pharmacists will supervise pharmacy technicians and may take on essential management responsibilities in their absence, leading pharmacy services in their designated clinical or operational area.

Ambulatory Care Pharmacists will work collaboratively with patients and healthcare providers to ensure safe and effective medication use. Responsibilities include conducting comprehensive medication reviews, adjusting and ordering medications per collaborative practice agreements, identifying unneeded or harmful medications, and providing extensive patient education. Clinics may include Palliative Care, Comprehensive Care (Internal Medicine), Anticoagulation, and Refill Clinics.

Education:

  • Doctor of Pharmacy from an ACPE-accredited school is required.
  • Completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY1 residency is preferred.

Experience:

  • Preferred: Healthcare experience in acute care and completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY1 residency.

Specialty Areas:

  • Informatics Pharmacy:

    • Requires ASHP-accredited residency in Information Technology and two years of clinical experience in a hospital setting.
  • Oncology Pharmacy:

    • Experience in hematology/oncology and knowledge of solid tumors and treatments is preferred.
  • Pediatric Pharmacy:

    • Completion of a PGY-1 residency with pediatric services or prior experience in pediatric pharmacy is preferred.
  • Critical Care Pharmacy:

    • Requires completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY1 residency and preferably a PGY2 in Critical Care or relevant experience.
  • Ambulatory Care Pharmacy:

    • Must have knowledge of chronic disease states and prior experience in an AmCare Clinic setting preferred.

Certifications/Licenses:

  • Active California Registered Pharmacist (RPH) license required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications preferred, depending on the area of work.
  • Advanced Practice Pharmacist (APh) license preferred.

Work Schedule:

  • Wednesday to Saturday, 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM.

Pay Range:

  • $84.64 - $114.26 per hour, based on relevant experience and licensure.

Note: Positions below the manager level that are exempt from overtime are listed as hourly for compensation purposes.
