Job Overview

Cincinnati Children's Hospital is seeking a part-time Pharmacist to join their Critical Care and OR team. The role involves working with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide treatments and medication advice for patients. This position includes rotating shifts, including weekends, with a focus on optimizing medication use, ensuring safety, and maintaining adherence to regulatory standards.

Schedule

  • Part-time, 20 hours/week
  • Rotating shifts, including weekends

Expected Starting Salary

  • $52.66 - $67.30 per hour

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate medication orders, ensuring accuracy based on patient needs, weight, allergies, and compatibility.
  • Prepare and administer intravenous (IV) preparations such as TPN, central lines, antibiotics, chemotherapy, and respiratory therapy syringes.
  • Process chemotherapy orders with appropriate precautions, ensuring correct dosages and calculations.
  • Serve as a resource for drug therapy, using references to answer medication-related questions and offer recommendations.
  • Educate patients, healthcare teams, students, and residents.
  • Handle problem medication orders, contact physicians or nurses as needed, and ensure timely communication.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or PharmD degree.
  • Pharmacist license in Ohio or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire.
