Overview
BrightSpring Health Services is looking for a dedicated and motivated Pharmacist to join our team. As part of PharMerica, a non-retail pharmacy, we focus on providing exceptional customer service to hospitals, rehabilitation facilities, long-term acute care centers, and other specialized care centers nationwide.

Schedule

  • Monday to Friday: 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM, 10:30 AM - 6:30 PM, 11:30 AM - 7:30 PM (Rotating)
  • Rotating Saturday: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM
  • Rotating Sunday: 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM

This position will be posted for a minimum of 7 business days.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate physician medication orders for appropriateness of drug, dosage, potential interactions, and route of administration. Recommend therapy changes to physicians and facility staff as needed.
  • Maintain patient/resident databases with current and past medical history, clinical and laboratory data, and concurrent medications (including over-the-counter and home remedies).
  • Ensure appropriate laboratory tests are ordered, evaluated, and discussed with the healthcare team for high-risk conditions.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to provide clinical and technical support.
  • Document all communication with healthcare professionals, patients, and families in the medical record.
  • Implement policies for the safe procurement, storage, distribution, use, and disposal of drugs and biologicals.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Report medication-related errors to the Pharmacy Manager.
  • Assist facility staff with safe methods for procuring, maintaining, administering, and disposing of drugs.
  • Perform other assigned tasks as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy (Pharm D preferred)
  • At least one year of experience in long-term care
  • Licenses/Certifications: As required by government regulations and business needs
  • Detail-oriented, goal-driven, team player, and strong oral communication skills
