Medical Scientific Liaison CRM - Catalonia

Position Overview

Boehringer Ingelheim is seeking a Medical Scientific Liaison (MSL) to join our Cardio-Renal-Metabolic (CRM) franchise. This role will cover the Catalonia region (Barcelona and Girona) and the Balearic Islands. The MSL will play a key role in executing the scientific plan aligned with the franchise's strategic objectives, establishing partnerships with stakeholders, and driving the dissemination of scientific evidence to reinforce our medications' positioning from early stages.


Responsibilities

Strategic Execution

  • Implement and support the execution of the Scientific Plan at the regional level, aligned with the strategic objectives of the CRM Franchise.
  • Collaborate with the Medical Advisor and the cross-functional regional team to build and consolidate the scientific positioning of the medication.
  • Execute strategic scientific plans and value-added activities to foster relationships with key stakeholders and scientific societies within the assigned region.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build, develop, and maintain relationships with External Experts (EEs) in the assigned therapeutic area and region.
  • Contribute to the scientific dissemination of the product by educating stakeholders on clinical evidence, outcomes, and economic data.
  • Gather medical insights to identify opportunities, unmet needs, and motivations, enabling reactive initiatives for evidence generation.

Scientific Support

  • Respond to medical inquiries in accordance with company procedures.
  • Act as a key partner in evidence generation, including Real-World Evidence (RWE), and support clinical trials in the therapeutic area.
  • Acquire a comprehensive understanding of the Patient Journey and anticipate future trends.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with the Market Access & Healthcare Affairs team, providing scientific and technical information to contribute to value proposition development.
  • Serve as the internal medical-scientific reference for the assigned region.

Innovation and Compliance

  • Efficiently and innovatively utilize various tools and channels to actively participate in the "Go-To-Market" model.
  • Represent the company's image and values in internal and external interactions.
  • Ensure all actions comply with internal regulations, procedures, SOPs, the Code of Conduct, and compliance guidelines.

Profile & Requirements

  • Degree in Health Sciences.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a similar role in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English.
  • Availability to travel approximately 50% of the time.
  • Strong leadership, strategic vision, effective communication, curiosity, digital mindset, innovation, analytical thinking, customer and results orientation, relationship-building skills, influencing abilities, and active listening.
  • Residence: Barcelona.
