Overview

Illingworth Research Group, a global leader in patient-focused clinical research services, is seeking a Per Diem Research Nurse to support clinical trials in Houston, Texas. Our services span mobile research nursing, patient concierge, medical photography, and clinical research for pharmaceutical, biotech, healthcare, and medical device industries.

This role brings clinical research directly into patients’ homes, enhancing the participant experience and contributing to high-quality trial outcomes.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct clinical assessments, observations, and specimen collections in participants’ homes.

  • Perform phlebotomy (venipuncture), subcutaneous injections, ECGs, cannulation, and IV therapy administration.

  • Support studies involving central venous access as required.

  • Ensure compliance with ICH-GCP and study-specific protocols; documentation and data entry in accordance with trial requirements.

  • Assist with patient recruitment, retention, and engagement strategies during home visits.

  • Maintain accurate records, ensuring confidentiality and adherence to regulatory requirements.

  • Participate in project-specific training and ongoing professional development.


Required Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse (Adult or Pediatric) with relevant clinical experience.

  • Knowledge of clinical research trials and ICH-GCP guidelines (training can be provided).

  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

  • Proficient with basic IT and clinical software applications.

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle; travel within Houston area required.

  • Training in handling hazardous substances preferred (training provided if needed).


Clinical Skills

Depending on project requirements, candidates may utilize:

  • Phlebotomy (venipuncture), blood handling, and processing.

  • Subcutaneous and intravenous injections.

  • ECGs, vital signs, and specimen collections.

  • Cannulation and administration of IV therapies.


Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive hourly pay: $57–$67/hour

  • Hourly pay includes travel time and time with patients.
