Patient Access Associate – PRN, Day Shift

Job Overview

Piedmont Healthcare is seeking a detail-oriented Patient Access Associate (PRN) to support patient registration and front-end revenue cycle activities on an as-needed basis. Coverage may be required Monday through Sunday, within the 6:00 AM to 5:00 PM window. As a Patient Access Associate, you will play a key role in delivering accurate, patient-centered administrative support. You will help ensure efficient patient flow, complete registration tasks with accuracy, and contribute to a positive patient experience. Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as patient-facing support within the Patient Access Department.

  • Ensure completeness and accuracy of patient accounts, including demographics, insurance verification, and clinical data entry.

  • Calculate patient financial responsibility and communicate financial options and requirements.

  • Process patient payments and secure necessary forms, consents, and acknowledgements.

  • Maintain compliance with organizational standards and confidentiality requirements.

Required Qualifications

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

Experience

  • Minimum one (1) year of experience in one of the following areas:

    • Healthcare revenue cycle

    • Clinical role

    • Clerical, accounting, finance, or retail experience

Licensure & Certifications

  • None required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Three (3) years of Healthcare Revenue Cycle experience preferred.

  • Certification through Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) or Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR) preferred.

  • Prior experience with Epic electronic health records preferred.
