Job Title: Part-Time Pharmacist for Critical Care and OR
Location: Cincinnati, OH
Schedule: 20 hrs/week, rotating shifts, including weekends

Expected Salary Range: $52.66 - $67.30 per hour

Overview:
Cincinnati Children's Hospital is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable part-time pharmacist to join our Critical Care and OR team. This role involves all aspects of the medication use process, including procurement, prescribing, compounding, dispensing, storage, and monitoring of medications. As a pharmacist, you will work closely with physicians and clinicians to ensure safe and effective medication use for patients. This is an excellent opportunity for those passionate about critical care pharmacy in a dynamic healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Medication Orders: Evaluate and process medication orders, ensuring accuracy based on patient history, weight, allergies, and compatibilities. Resolve issues and collaborate with the healthcare team to optimize patient care.
  • Intravenous Preparations: Prepare IV medications including TPN, central lines, antibiotics, and chemotherapy in line with departmental protocols.
  • Chemotherapy Orders: Process chemotherapy orders, ensuring dosages are accurate and checked by two pharmacists. Adhere to safety protocols when preparing chemotherapy treatments.
  • Serve as a Resource: Provide expertise on medication-related questions, including drug interactions and appropriate dosing. Review patient data and assist physicians with dosing recommendations, ensuring accurate and timely therapeutic interventions.

Qualifications:

  • Education/Experience Required:
    • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or PharmD degree.
    • Pharmacist License in Ohio or the ability to obtain within 3 months of hire.
  • Strong knowledge in critical care and oncology pharmacy practice.
  • Ability to function as a resource for both the pharmacy team and the wider healthcare team.
