About the Role

Amgen, a global biotechnology leader, is seeking an Operational Pricing Lead (WEMEA) to drive pricing strategy, operational governance, and value access initiatives across West Europe, Middle East, and Africa. The role ensures pricing infrastructure is maintained, contracts are compliant, and accurate data supports financial planning and reimbursement submissions. The position contributes to Amgen’s competitive edge, particularly in managing complex biosimilar and innovative medicine portfolios.

Team Overview

The WEMEA Operational Pricing Team is part of Amgen’s broader Global Operational Pricing (GOP) organization. The team handles all aspects of value and access, including reimbursement submission planning, execution, pricing governance, and financial planning input for countries within the region. Beyond regional responsibilities, the team contributes to global projects improving processes, systems, and capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

Pricing Analysis and Infrastructure

  • Conduct IRP, price erosion, launch sequencing, and price planning analyses

  • Monitor pricing performance against established policies

  • Maintain and optimize pricing tools and systems

Contracts and Business Case Management

  • Support price floor setting processes

  • Review and approve contracts requiring pricing governance

  • Evaluate pricing business cases and partner with affiliates to explore alternative pricing or contracting strategies

  • Ensure documentation of all pricing decisions is accurate and compliant

Financial Planning Support

  • Provide pricing and access assumptions for financial planning cycles

  • Support affiliates with pricing submissions and ensure compliance with local regulations

Continuous Improvement and Strategic Initiatives

  • Identify opportunities to streamline pricing processes and governance

  • Contribute to GOP improvement initiatives and automation projects

  • Support new launches, reimbursement submissions, indication expansions, and loss of exclusivity (LOE) planning

Experience Required

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Financial Audit, Finance Analysis, Sales, or Marketing

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Pricing, Financial Audit, Finance Analysis, Sales & Marketing Effectiveness, Forecasting, or Consulting

  • Strong technical skills in data analysis, forecasting, and advanced Excel usage

  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills

  • High attention to detail and accuracy

Preferred Experience:

  • Prior experience in pharmaceutical pricing or health economics

  • Understanding of HTA (Health Technology Assessment) and global value frameworks

  • Experience in cross-functional, virtual, and global team environments

  • Demonstrated ability to proactively identify challenges and implement solutions
