Salary: Rs. 25,000 per month

Project Overview

The CRC 1 Project focuses on supporting research aimed at improving the nutritional status of children through the evaluation of improved take-home foods combined with behavior change interventions. The Nutritionist will support both institute-based and field operations at SJRI and Shivamogga.

Role Summary

SJRI is seeking a qualified Nutritionist to join its research division. The role involves contributing to data collection, field research, nutritional assessments, and overall coordination of project activities across study locations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct and support data collection activities, including participant interviews, field surveys, and nutritional assessments

  • Ensure timely and accurate data entry while maintaining data integrity and confidentiality

  • Assist in data quality checks and identification of discrepancies

  • Provide technical support in setting up and calibrating research instruments and tools

  • Ensure adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across all project activities

  • Participate in routine field visits to monitor study progress and ensure compliance with research protocols

  • Contribute to the development of technical reports, presentations, and manuscripts

  • Support additional research activities within the Division of Nutrition

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Educational Requirement: M.Sc. in Food Science and Nutrition

  • Languages: English, Kannada, and Hindi

  • Experience: 0–2 years; prior field or research experience in nutrition is preferred

  • Strong analytical, technical, and organizational skills

  • Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary research team

  • Excellent written, interpersonal, and verbal communication skills

  • Strong attention to detail, time management, and systematic work approach
