Project Overview
The CRC 1 Project focuses on supporting research aimed at improving the nutritional status of children through the evaluation of improved take-home foods combined with behavior change interventions. The Nutritionist will support both institute-based and field operations at SJRI and Shivamogga.
Role Summary
SJRI is seeking a qualified Nutritionist to join its research division. The role involves contributing to data collection, field research, nutritional assessments, and overall coordination of project activities across study locations.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct and support data collection activities, including participant interviews, field surveys, and nutritional assessments
Ensure timely and accurate data entry while maintaining data integrity and confidentiality
Assist in data quality checks and identification of discrepancies
Provide technical support in setting up and calibrating research instruments and tools
Ensure adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across all project activities
Participate in routine field visits to monitor study progress and ensure compliance with research protocols
Contribute to the development of technical reports, presentations, and manuscripts
Support additional research activities within the Division of Nutrition
Required Qualifications and Skills
Educational Requirement: M.Sc. in Food Science and Nutrition
Languages: English, Kannada, and Hindi
Experience: 0–2 years; prior field or research experience in nutrition is preferred
Strong analytical, technical, and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary research team
Excellent written, interpersonal, and verbal communication skills
Strong attention to detail, time management, and systematic work approach
