MSL Associate Director – Viral Liver Disease (North America)

Job Summary

IQVIA is hiring a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) Associate Director to lead scientific dialogue and peer education in viral hepatitis, hepatology, and infectious diseases across North America. This is a field-based leadership position where you'll both manage your own territory and mentor a team of MSLs. You'll drive clinical engagement, support clinical trials, and deliver strategic insights to internal and external stakeholders. Ideal for experienced MSLs with strong scientific communication and leadership skills, this role offers a high-impact opportunity to influence clinical outcomes and strategy across the U.S. and Canada.


Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the scientific expert and point of contact in viral hepatitis, hepatology, and infectious diseases

  • Mentor, coach, and support MSL team development while managing a North American territory

  • Provide compliant, fair-balanced scientific information to HCPs and stakeholders

  • Collaborate with clinical trial leads, CRAs, and internal teams on study-related matters

  • Present clinical data to healthcare professionals, academic researchers, and advisory boards

  • Attend major medical congresses to present data, build advocacy, and expand scientific networks

  • Develop regional territory and engagement plans aligned with medical affairs strategies

  • Share actionable clinical and scientific insights with cross-functional internal teams

  • Support the development of peer influence programs and advisory events

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and medical communication guidelines


Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Advanced degree preferred (PharmD, PhD, or MD); Master’s degree required

  • Minimum 1 year experience in hepatology and/or infectious disease (strongly preferred)

  • Prior experience as an MSL is required

  • Clinical trial or medical affairs experience preferred

  • Strong knowledge of scientific communication and regulatory frameworks

  • Excellent written, oral, and presentation skills in English

  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel up to 70% across North America

  • Proficiency with CRM tools, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Outlook

  • Must comply with vaccination requirements for onsite services
