Job Summary:

Join a leading healthcare and life sciences organization as a Microbiologist in Boulder, CO. This is a critical role supporting microbiological testing on raw materials, finished products, and QA samples for medical device products. The role ensures compliance with GMP, ISO 13485, and regulatory standards while contributing to environmental monitoring, product validation, and quality assurance processes. Ideal for candidates with 1–3 years of experience in a microbiology laboratory, preferably within a medical device or healthcare environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct microbiological testing: Sterility Testing, Bioburden, Endotoxin, Antibiotic assays, and Container Closure Integrity tests.

  • Support product validation activities and maintain logs and historical data for Biological Indicators (BIs).

  • Perform environmental monitoring and identify microbial isolates in cleanroom and plant environments.

  • Evaluate spikes in bioburden and antimicrobial resistance of microorganisms.

  • Assist in the documentation and recertification of cleanrooms and plant systems.

  • Ensure strict compliance with FDA, ISO 9000, USP, EN, ASTM standards.

  • Support Quality Assurance for external audits and EHS policies.

  • Document laboratory activities and maintain precise, regulatory-compliant records.


Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Education: BS/AS in Microbiology or equivalent scientific field.

  • Experience: 1–3 years in a Microbiology Laboratory; at least 1 year in the Medical Device industry preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of cGMP, ISO 13485:2003 standards.

  • Competency in Validation Processes and understanding of cleanroom environments.

  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and general computer software.

  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and analytical skills.

  • Ability to manage lab workflows, meet deadlines, and maintain compliance with Quality and EHS goals.
