Job Summary

Vantive, a global leader in vital organ therapy and kidney care, is hiring a Microbiologist at its Castlebar, Ireland facility. This role offers a dynamic opportunity to perform bioburden and endotoxin testing, microbial identification, and environmental monitoring while ensuring strict compliance with GMP, ISO, and regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct bioburden and endotoxin testing of water systems.

  • Perform testing of finished medical device and pharmaceutical products including bioburden, sterility, endotoxin, and particulate matter.

  • Carry out microbial identification of isolates.

  • Perform environmental monitoring in classified production cleanrooms.

  • Investigate laboratory deviations and exceptions.

  • Represent the microbiology laboratory during internal and external audits.

  • Participate in LEAN process improvement projects, validations, and risk assessments.

  • Ensure full compliance with GMP, EP, USP, and ISO regulations.

  • Validate test methods in accordance with established procedures.


Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology or a relevant science discipline focusing on Biological Sciences.

  • Prior experience in a microbiology laboratory (preferred).

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

  • Experience working in regulated industries such as pharmaceuticals or medical devices (preferred).

  • Strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills.

  • Effective problem-solving abilities.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
