Position Summary

The Manager – Product Surveillance is responsible for leading the Product Surveillance Team, overseeing end-to-end complaint processing across multiple product lines while ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and procedures.

This role requires strong leadership, decision-making, and regulatory knowledge — particularly of FDA, ISO, and Baxter Quality Systems.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Post-Market Surveillance processes.

  • Manage and mentor the team, including coaching, development, and performance management.

  • Assign and oversee daily complaint processing activities, ensuring timely closure and compliance with reporting requirements.

  • Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and identify areas for process improvement.

  • Provide regular reports and updates on team performance to management.

  • Handle escalated issues promptly and ensure leadership is informed of any high-risk concerns.

  • Lead or participate in cross-functional activities and CAPA/NCR projects.

  • Drive audit readiness and represent the Post-Market Surveillance function during internal and external audits.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory requirements and revise procedures when necessary.

  • Perform other Post-Market Product Surveillance duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Core Skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication across functions and levels.

  • Strong critical thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.

  • In-depth understanding of complaint handling, regulatory reporting, and FDA/ISO guidelines.

  • Ability to motivate, influence, and develop others.

  • Skilled in technical writing and scientific reasoning.

  • Demonstrates customer focus, collaboration, and attention to detail.


Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering (preferred).

  • 5+ years of experience in Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering, or related field.

  • 1–2 years of supervisory or team leadership experience, or 7+ years relevant experience in Product Surveillance.
